About
Training Sessions
Another key aspect of the grant is the delivery of limited in-person training sessions located in five geographic regions of the United States. Thus far, three sessions have been completed (Seattle, Washington; Sutton, West Virginia & Omaha, Nebraska). Two other sessions will be following, that includes sessions in Phoenix, Arizona and Atlanta, Georgia.
The instructional sessions are designed primarily for those in a consulting/instructional capacity within their library, state library agency, or consortia. The intent is for those who attend to go back to their organizations and engage in some "train the trainer" activities. In particular, the session will cover the following topics:
- A general introduction to e-metrics, what they are, and why they are important to the library community;
- An introduction to the online module website, design, and features;
- Specific instruction on selected e-metrics; and
- Data use and presentation strategies.
There is no charge to participants for attending the session. The trainers include John Carlo Bertot, Joe Ryan, and Denise Davis. There may be additional training sessions planned in the future, and will be announced in this web site.
