Purpose

In particular, EMIS will help practitioners know about their database use, digital reference services, and other selected services and resources.

The web site was developed with the following purposes:

  • Provide education and training to the development, use, and implementation of selected e-metrics;
  • Provide tools that can be utilized in reporting selected e-metrics;
  • Conduct demonstrations on ways of reporting selected e-metrics and utilizing the results of e-metrics;
  • Share information regarding recent developments and activities related to selected e-metrics; and
  • Field test selected e-metrics as to their feasibility and applications in various library settings.

We offer:

  • Recommended e-metrics instructional modules covering related e-metric data collection, data analysis, and use in your library. Modules can be viewed in the format of your choice, succinct or detail, followed by an optional multiple choice quiz.
  • Instructional modules covering the basics of the library measurement process including introduction, selection, data collection, data analysis, and presentation and use.
  • An E-metric Catalog identifying known, standardized and field-tested e-metrics from various sources.
  • Downloadable E-metric Annual Report that allows you plug in your data to show your library's electronic resources and services value.
  • Selected E-metrics resources of interest and use.
