Location

The Institute offices are located in Suite 010 of the Louis Shores Building, home of the School of Information, building number 19 on the FSU main campus map. Situated on the southwest corner of Landis Green, the Shores Building is at the heart of FSU's campus. Click on the image below for a PDF version of the FSU main campus map.

Directions

Traveling East on Interstate 10:

  • Take Exit #192 (old #27) and yield right onto US Highway 90 (Tennessee Street). 
  • Continue driving east for approximately 7.4 miles.
  • Turn right on Stadium Drive and continue going straight as you pass the stadium on your left.
  • Continue to Woodward Avenue and make a left.
  • Continue straight and through the curve to the right in front of Denny's, where the road becomes Traditions Way. When you reach the stop sign at Traditions Way and Collegiate Loop you are facing the back of Shores Building.

Traveling West on Interstate 10:

  • Take Exit #209A (old #31) that will put you on US Highway 90 (Mahan Drive that becomes Tennessee Street). 
  • Continuing driving west about 9 miles on US Highway 90 (now Tennessee Street). 
  • Turn left onto North Copeland Street.
  • Turn right on West Jefferson Street. 
  • Turn right onto Woodward Avenue (which becomes Traditions Way. 
  • Continue straight and through the curve to the right in front of Denny's, where the road becomes Traditions Way. When you reach the stop sign at Traditions Way and Collegiate Loop you are facing the back of Shores Building.

FSU Parking Policies to Consider:

  • Parking is allowed in student parking (denoted by "W" signage or white painted stall lines) with a valid orientation parking permit on the day(s) of your orientation program only. 
  • Additional paid parking is available in visitor lots and metered spaces on the FSU Campus. If used, orientation visitors are responsible for paying visitor lot and meter fees.
  • DO NOT park in Faculty/Staff parking (denoted by "R" signage or red painted stall line). 
  • Do NOT park in firelines, reserved spaces, service areas, non-designated areas (yellow curbs, access lanes, lawns, landscape or sidewalks).
