Florida Rural Broadband Alliance (FRBA) Extends Needs Assessment Award to the Information Institute

The Florida State University Information Use Management and Policy Institute (Information Institute) will be continuing its broadband needs assessment activities with the Florida Rural Broadband Alliance, LLC (FRBA) during the Spring and Summer of 2012.  During this phase of the project, the Information Institute will assist rural communities in the FRBA region by engaging in community-based broadband planning.  The extended project will pilot test a broadband planning process under development at the Information Institute (for more information, see Alemanne, Mandel, & McClure, 2011 in Library Technology Reports).  Based on the pilot broadband planning process, the Information Institute will produce a guide for broadband planning that can be of assistance to other rural communities.  For more information on this project, see the project website.
